So, as a young girl, whenever I went out to dinner with the family, my parents always ordered soup in the following manner:

“One sweetcorn/ burnt garlic/ tomato soup, and please divide it into two.”

For them, the reason was that the quantity had been unreal and too much for one person, but I noticed something else. The “into two” came out to be two full bowls of soup! Which was then devoured by six people, of course. ^_^

From this experience, Peach and I have vowed to never order two separate dishes/ beverages/ appetizers whenever we go out to eat! Plebs need to bank on every opportunity they can get, after all!

Korea is pleb heaven! Samples and freebies are given out at almost every store, even if you don’t make a purchase!
The Korean term for this is 서비스 ( Service). It might seem strange for a store to give away so many samples and promotional products, but it really does help them increase brand loyalty! After using some of these samples, I’ve been saving up for the the full size!

cherry tint

Especially for these adorable lip tints by the Korean makeup brand Etude House!

The colour stays on your lips all day, even while eating and drinking!

If you hate reapplying, then this stuff is for you!

Look for stores in your country that give out samples and promotional freebies! You don’t wanna end up wasting money on a cool new product that turns out to be useless!

You’ve got to try before you buy, right?

Do you have rice? Do you boil it? Is there water left over?

If your answer to all my questions was a big whopping YES! then my following tip would blow you out of the water.

I’m sure mothers all around the globe have their quirks and tricks they put to use, unbeknownst to their distracted and perpetually hungry kids. However, there is always a moment in time, when one of these distracted youths happens upon something worth sharing.

Here’s a tip that would save you the trouble and cost of visiting the dry-cleaners, especially when you’re particularly lazy or moody~~

When you boil rice, in order to make it easy to chew and swallow of course, the water that remains is replete with starch. Now, this starch is no ordinary element, do not dispose of it. In fact, this translucent-white starch-rich water can be used to make your shirts crisp and structured, just like they do at the dry-cleaners. Just dip, squeeze, and dry once the water has cooled down! This way you can look like you mean business without having paid a single penny, and after all that’s what we’re about!

~~ Happy starch-ing!

The Plebeian Guide to Living Life- Tip #1

by Kuma

I am sure you have come across some (nothing too dire) hurdles in life that you were unable to overcome due to the simple reason of it being too expensive for your pocket. So, we thought of starting a series where we post Quick Tips related to getting by without paying a dime!

Here’s Tip #1

Problem:

My laptop could be called the equivalent of a giant black box without any purpose or creative potential. The culprit: the fan at the bottom that continuously works for obvious reasons and results in the overheating of the entire system. This happens due to blockage or dust particles getting stuck inside the vent hampering the functioning of your laptop.

Solution:

This was really unexpected, because I had made up my mind to buy one of those cooling pads or things for my laptop and I was morbid about the extra cost, when I placed my burning coal box on an issue of Vogue. I returned to my room after 30 minutes and what do I see – my laptop is still working and the bottom is comparatively cooler and the magazine is pretty chilled out as well!img_2430

So, guys and girls if you have the same problem as me and your laptop’s being a *****, try putting it on a cool shiny magazine, I am sure you have one somewhere! Trust me, it works!
